Procrastination

August 18, 2014

Killed the mosquito that had been terrorizing my apartment for days. Chet thought we had bed bugs it was so prolific. Good news is we don’t and I got to do a little procrastinating from my new draft of In Antarctica.

The Little Merman

August 18, 2014

My one-act The Little Merman was commissioned and presented by AmiosNYC at the Kraine Theater on August 4th. The theme of the night was You Call The Shotz! with plays having multiple possible endings determined by an audience vote. Similar to the Choose Your Own Adventure books of the 90’s The Little Merman was written in second person. Here are some photos from that production.

Featuring:

Alice Turner (pink dress)

Nina Frye (Blue Dress)

Mike Fulvio (The Merman)

And directed by Kerry Kastin

Fundrai$ing

July 9, 2014

My play In Antarctica, Where it is Very Warm is being presented at IRT Theater here in New York in September. In order to get it up on it’s feet and everyone (somewhat) paid for their time and effort we have set up a fundraising page. We decided not to go with one of the large crowd-funding sites because they take a huge percentage of the money donated (I would too if I could). Instead, we’re hosting our own fundraiser at Blowout Theater’s (producers extraordinaire) website. This is powered through Fractured Atlas who provide umbrella 501c status to small companies. They take a tiny percentage in comparison and also make your donations tax-deductatable. Win-win. Please give if you can, it’s super helpful for us in trying to stay in the black and bring more projects to life.

Also, to everyone who’s ended up here from Blowout site/fundraiser/Facebook, Hi! I’m Jona, take a look around, it’s nice to meet you and I hope to see you at the show.

We won!

Big thanks to everyone involved and everyone who came out to the Brick Theater’s Winter Ten Minute Play Fest. Last night I CAN HAS PLAY was voted audience favorite. A totally unexpected and wonderful way to start the year. Thank you all.
